The Freedom Ride : Helping Save The Lives of Our Returned Soldiers
Demonstration : Utah State Capitol, Thursday Sept 13, 2007 at 12 PM

Our returned soldiers deserve better health care than they are currently being provided. At present many soldiers are on waiting lists for conventional medicine and psychiatric help. Between 20 and 55% of veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars suffer from PTSD.

Many soldiers with PTSD have committed suicide while being made to wait for health care that is their right to receive after the sacrifices they have made for their country and the free world in general. The Federal government estimates that 5,000 veterans, including those who have not seen combat, commit suicide every year. They are twice as likely to commit suicide as the average person. Dr. Bentson McFarland, an Oregon psychiatry and public health professor and an author of the recent suicide study, thinks the suicide epidemic among Iraq veterans will be worse than Vietnam.

By deregulating the natural therapies industry more natural therapists can fill this tragic gap in our health care system. Natural therapies, in particular powerful forms of deep tissue massage such as Raynor massage, Japanese Shiatsu massage and Thai massage can be one of the most beneficial forms of treatment for PTSD and the depression and anxiety that can often lead to suicide. At the moment many US states have enforced legislation impeding the practice of these crucial health care therapies.

The Freedom Ride is moving between each US state capitol and we will demonstrate the effectiveness of our Raynor massage style and protest against these laws that stop natural therapists from practicing these internationally acclaimed natural therapies that could save the lives of many of our soldiers now on the waiting list for health care.

We will be providing Raynor massage free of charge to all returning soldiers and their families and friends, outside of the State capitol building, on Thursday September 13th as a token of our appreciation to their sacrifices to America and the free world.

Brandon Raynor, Naturopathic Practitioner and President of the International Natural Therapies Association, will be available for comment and interviews today through the telephone and email listed below and onsite at the steps of the capitol building on Thursday, September 13, starting at 12pm and going to 5 PM .
